The VII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Allergology and Immunology: Achievements and Prospects” was held in a hybrid format on September 21-23, 2023, which was organized with the assistance of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the city public health department of the Akimat of Almaty.
The organizers of the conference were the Society of Allergists, Immunologists and Immunorehabilitation Specialists (OAIIR), as well as Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov.
Within the framework of the Congress, the following were held: Plenary session, 5 seminars, 3 satellites, a section of young scientists, in which leading domestic and foreign experts from Germany, Austria, Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Belarus, and Pakistan took part.
A total of more than 1,000 participants took part in the Congress — practical healthcare doctors, representatives of the teaching staff of medical universities and research centers of the country, residents, and healthcare organizers.
Delegates from all regions of Kazakhstan, as well as Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan were present. All presentations, as well as a series of lectures, are available on the website www.oaiir.kz in the form of videos.
All reports presented at the conference had high scientific and practical significance and addressed the most relevant and important issues of respiratory medicine, allergology and clinical immunology. The sections devoted to the problems of specific immunotherapy and allergy diagnostics attracted much attention.
The draft Order of the Ministry of Health regarding the approval of the revision of the Standard for Allergology and Immunology, diagnostic and treatment protocols was discussed separately.
The achievements and problems of vaccine prevention, the need to popularize vaccination as an effective and safe method of protection against a number of dangerous infectious diseases, as well as primary and secondary immunodeficiency conditions were widely discussed.
The experience of holding this International Congress in a virtual expanded format was recognized by all delegates (including foreign experts) as timely, innovative, highly scientific, practice-oriented and relevant.
