The university held a seminar on the topic “Separate waste collection”, as part of the implementation of the policy on sustainable development goals of KazNMU.
The meeting’s speaker, Evgeny Mukhamedzhanov, who greatly advanced knowledge of the fundamentals of sustainable development, stressed the significance of the ecological issue and sustainable development. These days, one of the most concerning global issues is garbage and its consequences on the environment. Waste separation is suggested as one of the novel methods for promoting economic development in this setting.
The seminar’s goal was to clarify and illustrate the benefits of separate garbage collection. A method known as «segregated waste collection» collects and recycles various waste materials, including paper, plastic, glass, and metal. To lessen the impact on the environment and the quantity of waste kept, each sort of waste is collected individually and transferred for recycling or disposal. Creating a system where everyone, from individuals to corporations, takes responsibility for their garbage is the major goal of separate waste collection.
The environment and the economy benefit from the outcomes of such a system. First of all, distinct waste collecting procedures facilitate the recycling and reuse of a greater number of items, hence mitigating the use of primary resources and lowering greenhouse gas emissions. Second, the establishment of a distinct garbage collection system fosters the growth of new business ventures and employment prospects, including recycling businesses.
The speaker in the seminar’s last section mentioned segregated waste collection as a novel strategy for economic growth that promotes environmental preservation and the creation of new business prospects. Therefore, in order to implement separate garbage collection, there needs to be active community participation, government backing, and collaborative efforts towards sustainable development.
