Educational Seminar «Comprehensive Approach to the Treatment of Osteochondrosis and Other Musculoskeletal Disorders»
On March 18, 2025, an educational seminar titled “Comprehensive Approach to the Treatment of Osteochondrosis and Other Musculoskeletal Disorders” was held as part of the budget program 028 “Ensuring the Activities of Medical Organizations of the Office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan” under subprogram 102 “Technical and Information Support for Medical Organizations.”
The invited lecturer was S.T. Turuspekova, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Head of the Department of Nervous Diseases at Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, Chief Freelance Neurologist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and a neurologist of the highest qualification category. She is a member of the Association of Neurologists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Prim WFN Neurologists League, ESO, WSO, AD/PD, IPA, ISPRM, and Guidepoint Advisors.
The Center for Medical Technologies and Information Systems (CMTIS) carries out educational activities aimed at developing and improving the professional skills of employees of the organizations under the Office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan). The portfolio of JSC “CMTIS” includes more than 70 educational solutions designed to develop soft and hard skills, digital competencies, and professional expertise in the format of online courses and in-person training programs and seminars.
The center was established in accordance with Resolution No. 1355 of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 25, 1998, “On the Issues of Program-Administering Institutions Financed from the State Budget,” and by Order No. 25 of the Medical Center of Office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated February 17, 1999, “On the Establishment of the State Institution ‘Center for the Implementation of Modern Medical Technologies of the Medical Center of the Office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan’.” It was later reorganized.
Objective of the Seminar
The seminar aimed to enhance theoretical knowledge and professional competencies of medical doctors and mid-level healthcare personnel, enabling them to perform diagnostic and therapeutic tasks within their qualifications. A key focus was placed on developing a personalized approach to patients with neurological manifestations of musculoskeletal disorders, in line with modern evidence-based medicine principles at the primary healthcare level.

Seminar Outcomes
As a result of the seminar, participants became familiar with key aspects of diagnosing and treating patients with neurological manifestations of dorsopathies, including non-specific back pain. The training emphasized evidence-based approaches to patient management, modern concepts of pain syndromes (including chronic pain), and their relevance in musculoskeletal disorders.
The training was conducted at the Ok-Zhetpes branch of JSC Medical and wellness complex in Almaty, with 30 participants in the group.
At the end of the course, testing and a participant survey were conducted. According to the survey results, the satisfaction rate with the training was 100% (Diagram 1), and based on the test results, the knowledge retention rate was 98% (Diagram 2).
