Аcademic mobility program for professors and teachers within the ERASMUS+ program (KA171-2023-2025)
International cooperation is an integral part of the activities of higher education institutions and an important tool in ensuring the quality of education and its compliance with international standards in the training of competitive specialists who are in demand in the labor market of Kazakhstan and abroad.
The curator of the ERASMUS+ program (KA107-2023-2025) on the Kazakhstani side is the dean of the School of Pharmacy of the S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Professor Z.B. Sakipova. Asfendiyarov, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Professor Sakipova Z.B.
As part of this program, from September 15 to 19, 2025, she visited universities in Poland: Lublin Medical University and Rzeszów University. The program was prepared on the basis of a mutual cooperation agreement between the universities.
The purpose of academic mobility is to exchange knowledge in the field of microbiology in screening the antibacterial and antifungal activity of natural products using reference methods. It is planned to continue cooperation in the preparation of new joint projects between KazNMU and Polish partner universities, as well as to develop interdisciplinary links with departments and laboratories within the framework of scientific cooperation between partner universities.
Professor Sakipova’s visit is part of KazNMU’s long-standing cooperation with the Medical University of Lublin and the University of Rzeszów. It facilitated the exchange of experience in the field of education of students and doctoral students using modern teaching methods. Further plans for the implementation of joint research projects, including master’s theses and doctoral dissertations, were discussed. The main theme of these projects is the study of various types of plants in the flora of Kazakhstan, with a special focus on endemic species and their potential use in pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications.
Thanks to fruitful cooperation with Polish colleagues, the School of Pharmacy has trained more than ten PhD doctors and conducted scientific research of international significance. Academic mobility of young scientists and teaching staff is carried out between partner universities. The results of the research have been published in leading journals and included in international pharmacopoeias.
The implementation of the Program contributes to the development of international scientific cooperation, the introduction of advanced educational and practice-oriented approaches to training specialists, and the strengthening of interaction between academic science, clinical practice, and the pharmaceutical business.
