Implementation of the Academic Mobility Program by the Department of Nervous Diseases
As part of the implementation of the academic mobility program, Assistant Professor of the Department of Nervous Diseases, B.K. Demessinova, was assigned on a business trip to the city of Shymkent, to the “South Kazakhstan Medical Academy” JSC, to conduct practical classes and deliver lectures to interns in the discipline “Adult and Pediatric Neurology,” specialty 6B10101 “General Medicine,” from November 3 to November 8, 2025.
The classes were fully conducted by Assistant Professor B.K. Demessinova. The interns of the Department of Neurology, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation and Neurosurgery of SKMA showed genuine interest in the classes and lectures, and were motivated and inspired to continue mastering clinical and scientific knowledge. The practical sessions employed modern innovative teaching methods, accompanied by presentations, case-based tasks, and real clinical examples, and were held with the active participation of the interns.
During the practical classes, a number of topics were covered regarding modern principles of diagnosis, clinical features, and treatment of acute and chronic forms of cerebrovascular diseases, multiple sclerosis, Devic’s disease, and cognitive impairments. Key neurological symptoms, syndromes, and age-specific clinical manifestations of diseases were presented, along with major diagnostic criteria and modern rehabilitation methods. To enhance comprehension of the material, interesting clinical cases and patient examination data were demonstrated. Joint discussions of complex clinical cases were held.
