The President of the World Stroke Organization (WSO), Professor Dr. Jeyaraj D. Pandian, highly praised the contribution of KazNMU scientists to the organization of a major international congress.
In his official report for May, Professor Dr. Jeyaraj D. Pandian, President of the World Stroke Organization (WSO), highlighted the large-scale international congress held in Almaty as one of the key events of the month and expressed his sincere gratitude to the staff of the Department of Nervous Diseases at Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University (KazNMU) for their invaluable contribution to its organization.
In his May address published on the official WSO platform, Professor Pandian summarized the organization’s major global initiatives. Particular attention was given to the International Congress “Current Problems of Neurology: Focus on Education and Clinical Practice,” held in Almaty on May 29–30. The event became a landmark occasion not only for the medical community of Kazakhstan but also for Central Asia as a whole, bringing together, for the first time, WSO leadership and leading international experts in stroke medicine on a single platform.
As part of the congress, a dedicated WSO symposium was conducted. In his report, the WSO President specifically acknowledged the high level of preparation and organizational support provided by the staff of the Department of Nervous Diseases at Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, namely Professor E.S. Nurgozhayev and Head of the Department S.T. Turuspekova.
In his report, Professor Dr. Jeyaraj D. Pandian emphasized:
«I had the opportunity to deliver a plenary lecture on World Stroke Organization strategies aimed at reducing the global burden of stroke. We look forward to strengthening collaboration with stroke centers across Central Asia to standardize and improve the quality of stroke care through the implementation of the WSO Stroke Center Certification Program.»
Participation in organizing an event of such a high international level further confirms KazNMU’s status as a leading scientific and educational institution in Kazakhstan and strengthens its reputation within the global medical community.
