KazNMU Representatives Participated in the International Congress on Neurology in Dushanbe
On June 24–25, the International Scientific and Practical Congress “Modern Neuroscience and Clinical Neurology: Integration of Science and Practice” was held in the capital of Tajikistan, Dushanbe. The large-scale event was dedicated to the 35th Anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan and the 20th Anniversary of the “NEURON” Association of Neurologists.
The Congress was jointly organized by the NEURON Association of Neurologists of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Department of Neurology of Avicenna Tajik State Medical University, headed by Professor Manizha Timurovna Ganizoda, MD, PhD, Head of the Department.
The Congress was conducted in a hybrid format (onsite and online), bringing together leading experts from Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia.
The Department of Nervous Diseases of S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University (KazNMU) took an active part in the scientific program. The following distinguished representatives delivered presentations that attracted significant interest from the professional community:
- Professor Saule T. Turuspekova, MD, PhD, Head of the Department of Nervous Diseases;
- Professor Yerkin S. Nurguzhayev, MD, PhD, President of the Association of Neurologists of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In addition to participating in scientific discussions, the KazNMU delegation held working meetings with their Tajik colleagues. The parties outlined concrete plans for further strategic cooperation between KazNMU and Avicenna Tajik State Medical University. Future initiatives include launching joint research projects, organizing bilateral scientific webinars, and expanding academic mobility programs for faculty members and students.
The Congress demonstrated a high level of integration between academic research and clinical practice across the Central Asian region. The successful participation of the S.D. Asfendiyarov KazNMU delegation strengthened the University’s international reputation and opened new opportunities for collaborative medical research. The joint efforts of scientists from the CIS countries and beyond have laid a solid foundation for improving the quality of neurological care and promoting the implementation of innovative medical technologies in clinical practice.
