Eternal glory to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the historic victory of the peoples of the Soviet Union in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
Mass heroism and courage shown by Kazakhstanis during the war years on the battlefields and labor front occupy a special place in the annals of that special historical period in the life of our former common motherland. Kazakhstan made a worthy contribution to the victory over fascism.
In the Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov as well as all over the country are held large-scale commemorative events dedicated to two important dates — May 7, the Day of Defender of the Fatherland, and May 9, the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
May 6, 2025 in the School of Pharmacy KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov held a commemorative event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
In the School of Pharmacy opened a photo gallery “80 Years of the Great Victory: Memory of Generations”, where were presented unique historical photographs of the exploits of Kazakh soldiers — fathers and grandfathers of employees of the School of Pharmacy. In the foyer of the 2nd academic building students, masters, doctoral students, teachers could get acquainted with the materials reflecting heroism and steadfastness of Kazakhstani people of our nation.
Minute of silence became a symbolic beginning of the main part of the event. Then an excerpt from Robert Rozhdestvensky’s poem “Requiem” was performed by Associate Professor N.S. Omarkulova, the moderator of the event.
Dean of the School of Pharmacy, Professor Sakipova Zuriyadda Bektemirovna Sakipova emphasized the importance of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, noted the significance of the great victory, its role in the patriotic education of young people.
The participants of the event watched a documentary film about the Kazakhstani heroes, participants of the Great Patriotic War, songs of the war years performed by the orchestra of the School of Pharmacy, teachers and students made speeches.
Especially touching was the speech of professor Kizatova Maigul Zhalelovna who told about the fate of her father — Hero of the Soviet Union Zhalel Kizatov, to whom a separate documentary movie was dedicated.
Zhalel Kizatov received his baptism of fire in the 422nd artillery regiment of the legendary Chapaev division in the city of Odessa. Further his combat path ran through the cities of Simferopol, Kerch, Rostov, Stalingrad. By that time Kizatov was deputy commander of the 6th battery. He was a participant of the fierce battles that unfolded on the streets of the city on the Volga.
After the Battle of Stalingrad, the regiment in which Kizatov served as a platoon commander of the 4th battery was transferred to Kursk. Then he took part in the liberation of Ukraine.For courage and bravery shown during the forcing of the Dnieper, in January 1944, Senior Lieutenant Zh. K. Kizatov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. Later he took part in the liberation of Belarus, Poland and ended the war in Berlin.
At the end of the event student Sagymzhan Aiganym Zhanibekkyzyzy performed the song “Әlia” about the glorious daughter of the Kazakh people.
The memory of heroes is alive as long as we talk about them, remember and pass this memory to new generations.
