II International Scientific and Practical Conference entitled “Orphan Diseases in the Practice of a Neurologist”
On December 12, 2025, the II International Scientific and Practical Conference entitled “Orphan Diseases in the Practice of a Neurologist” was held in Karaganda in an in-person format. The conference was attended by PhD, Assistant Professor (Associate Professor) of the Department of Nervous Diseases of the NJSC “Kazakh National Medical University named after S. D. Asfendiyarov”, Almakhanova K.K.
The conference was organized by the Karaganda Association of Neurologists, represented by its Chairperson, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Neurology, Psychiatry and Rehabilitology of the NJSC “Karaganda Medical University”, Grigolashvili M.A., as well as by the Head of the Center for Autoimmune Diseases and Head of the Neurology Department of the Regional Clinical Hospital of Karaganda, Yevstafyeva N.A.
The conference was devoted to current issues of diagnosis, treatment, and multidisciplinary management of orphan and autoimmune diseases in neurological practice. The event brought together leading neurologists, researchers, and representatives of specialized medical organizations and scientific centers from various regions of Kazakhstan and abroad, including:

Within the framework of plenary and sectional sessions, modern approaches to the treatment of multiple sclerosis and rare neurological diseases, as well as issues related to the organization of specialized medical care for patients with orphan pathologies, were discussed.
The participation of PhD, Assistant Professor (Associate Professor) of the Department of Nervous Diseases of the NJSC “Kazakh National Medical University named after S. D. Asfendiyarov” Almakhanova K.K. in this conference contributed to the exchange of professional experience, strengthening of scientific and educational ties, and improvement of specialist training in the field of neurology. The knowledge gained and clinical recommendations discussed will be applied in the educational process and practical activities of the department.
