Implementation of the academic mobility program for students and teachers within the ERASMUS+ program (KA171-2023-2025)
International cooperation is an integral part of the activities of higher education institutions and an important tool in ensuring the quality of education and its compliance with international standards in the training of competitive specialists who are in demand in the labor market of Kazakhstan and abroad.
The ERASMUS+ program (KA171-2023-2025) was developed on the basis of a mutual cooperation agreement between the Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov and the Medical University of Lublin, Poland (No. 15 dated March 8, 2017).
The goal of academic mobility includes the exchange of knowledge in the field of microbiology in screening the antibacterial and antifungal activity of natural products using reference methods. In addition, it is planned to continue cooperation in the preparation of new joint projects between KazNMU and Lublin Medical University, as well as to develop interdisciplinary links with departments and laboratories within the framework of scientific cooperation between partner universities.
As part of the ERASMUS+ Programme Inter-institutional agreement Mobility of higher education students and staff (KA171 2023-2025), from July 21 to 25, 2025, the School of Pharmacy welcomed Professor Anna Malm from Lublin Medical University, Dean of the School of Pharmacy of KazNMU, Professor Z.B. Sakipova, Head of the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry Ruslan Almanbetovich Kulmanbetov, young scientists and faculty members of KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov.
The curators of the ERASMUS+ program (KA171-2023-2025) are: on the Polish side, Professor Anna Malm, and on the Kazakh side, Dean of the School of Pharmacy at KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Professor Sakipova Z.B. Thanks to fruitful cooperation with Polish colleagues, the School of Pharmacy has trained more than ten PhD doctors and conducted scientific research of international significance.
Academic mobility of young scientists and teaching staff is carried out between partner universities. The results of the research have been published in leading journals and included in international pharmacopoeias.
In accordance with the Erasmus+ Academic Mobility Program (KA171 2023–2025), the following events were held from July 21 to July 25, 2025:
- round table,
- training seminar: “Study of the antimicrobial activity of plant substances for the development of medicines, including for dentistry,”
- a scientific expedition to collect promising medicinal plants.
Presentations at the seminar and round table were given by:
— Professor Anna Malm, “Study of antimicrobial activity of plant substances for the development of medicines, including for dentistry”;
— Doctoral student Balzhan Bekbosynovna Rysalova, “Scientific rationale and prospects for the use of dragonhead (Dracocephalum spp.) in the development of oral care products”;
— Resident Aiganym Kubash, “Analysis of the market for dental drugs for the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity.”
As part of this project, Lublin Medical University professor Anna Malm and Kazakhstani participants in the program went on an expedition to the Kegen district of the Almaty region on July 22-24. The trip to the Kolsai Lakes and the study of plants in one of the most beautiful places in Kazakhstan made a lasting impression on the participants. Plants from this unique region of Kazakhstan were studied, and plant species with phytotherapeutic potential for practical application in medicine, including dentistry, were identified for further study.
A meeting was held with the management and scientific staff of the Republican State Institution “State National Nature Park ”Kolsai Kolderi.“ A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov and ”Kolsai Kolderi.»
