In the Hall of Fame of Academician T. Sharmanov, a plenary lecture by visiting professor, Dr. Cornelia Mair Wilson on the topic “Exosomes: biogenesis and their physiological role» were organized by Department of Biochemistry.
Dr Cornelia Mair Wilson is a Lecturer and Director of the Academic Laboratory at Christ Church University of Canterbury, School of Human and Life Sciences (UK). She is a recognized specialist in translational medicine, neurodegenerative diseases and nanotechnology in diagnostics and therapy.
The lectures were discussed molecular profiling of lung cancer exosomes for the development of early diagnosis strategies, exosome biogenesis: the role of sortilin in cancer biology, as well as a new concept of translational medicine.
The content and novelty of the lecture materials aroused interest and heated discussion among the present faculty, undergraduates, and PhD doctoral students, as well as students.
