Information for students about the format of studying in the spring semester of 2020-2021 academic year
In order to ensure the quality of education, in conformity with Ministry of Education and Science order, the University Administration made the following decision on the format of studying for students in 2020-2021 spring semester according to academic calendar:
Undergraduate (Bachelor degree):
- 1st year of all specialties/educational programs — blended learning (full-time — distance learning), classroom studies (face-to-face classes) start from March 1, 2021;
- 2nd year of all specialties/educational programs, all educational programs’ levels on the basis of higher/post-secondary education — blended learning (full-time and distance learning), classroom studies (face-to-face classes) should be conducted according to schedule approved by Deans;
- 3rd year of all specialties/educational programs, educational programs’ levels on the basis of higher/post-secondary education — blended learning (full-time and distance learning), classroom studies (face-to-face classes) should be conducted according to schedule approved by Deans;
- 4th year of «General Medicine» educational program — blended learning (full-time and distance learning) classroom studies (face-to-face classes) begin from February 1, 2021;
- 4th year of «Public health», «Nursing», «Pharmaceutical manufacturing technology», «Pharmacy», «Dentistry», «Pediatrics» educational programs — blended learning (full-time-distance learning), classroom studies (face-to-face classes) start from March 1, 2021;
- 5th year of «General Medicine» educational program — blended learning (full-time and distance learning), classroom studies (face-to-face classes) start from January 18, 2021;
- 5th year of «Pharmacy», «Dentistry» educational programs — blended learning (full-time and distance learning), classroom studies (face-to-face classes) start from March 1, 2021;
- For all years’ foreign students of International school — blended learning (full-time and distance learning), according to a schedule approved by the Dean.
Internship and residency:
- for students of the internship and residency level — classroom studies (face-to-face classes).
Master’s and Doctorate:
- for graduate and doctoral students — blended learning (full-time and distance learning), research work of master’s degree student and doctoral student, practice — full-time attendance.
With regard to restrictive measures against proliferation of coronavirus infection, training will be held in shifts. Break time between classes will be set on a rolling change schedule to avoid crowds in the hallway.
Full-time studying will take place according to the approved schedule of the department in compliance with all sanitary and epidemiological regimes. Practical skills training will be carried out in the Simulation Center, in health care facilities — according to approved schedule in compliance with the sanitary and epidemiological regime.
Professional practice will take place in healthcare organizations, research and development centers, scientific centers and universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan in full-time format, according to the academic calendar.
Those who need a hostel can be provided with places upon application according to University internal rules.
We inform you that earlier the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin held a selector meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in this connection the Ministry of Education and Science proposed to resume blended learning for university students, including medical.
All additional information on studying issues will be introduced by Schools’ Deans.
