International conference “KazNMU: 85 years of people, ideas and achievements”

Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University is celebrating its 85th anniversary in 2015. December 2-4, 2015 as part of the traditional University Days will be held an international conference “KazNMU: 85 years of people, ideas and achievements”. The programme includes the following events:
Day 1 – “Students’ and graduates’ day” involving 10 events, and the opening of the Indian Cultural Centre at KazNMU.
Day 2 – Plenary session in which world-class experts in medicine and education will make a speech, such as David Gordon, professor, president of World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), Timothy Spector, MD, a member of the Royal College of Physicians, a professor of genetic epidemiology at King’s College in London, a director of studies of twins and genetic epidemiology at St. Thomas’s Hospital (London, UK); Bahumil Seifert, professor, head of the department of GP, faculty of medicine at Charles University (Prague, Czech Republic). On this day will be conducted a round table with the partner universities on the topic “Achievements and challenges of medical education” and the KazNMU Alumni Association Forum on the topic “KazNMU graduates’ contribution to the development of healthcare and education” and and a master class “The role of pharmacists in improving the rational use of antibiotics.”
Day 3 – “Faculties’ Day”, during which will be held four international conferences involving domestic and foreign scientists from Sweden, UK, Poland, Czech Republic, Japan, USA, Canada, Slovenia and CIS countries: “Achievements and prospects of the university science”, “Medicine in the 21st century: a look into the future”, “Clinical pharmacy: international experience and peculiarities of development in Kazakh healthcare”, “Priorities of public healthcare and preventive medicine in the 21st century”. In the United University Clinic will be held three round tables on actual problems of diabetes, vascular surgery and hepatology demonstrating Japanese and Macedonian clinicians’ experience.
The events will be attended by over 20 partner universities of KazNMU, about 60 foreign scientists, delegations of regional healthcare, Embassies of India and Jordan in Kazakhstan, representatives of Ministry of Healthcare and Social Development, Education and Science of Kazakhstan. Also during the University Days in KazNMU will be an exhibition of pharmaceutical products and medical equipment.
