International Scientific and Practical Conference «Asfendiyarov Readings»
On October 17, 2025, Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference «Asfendiyarov Readings» on the topic:
«S.D. Asfendiyarov – the First Rector and Founder of KazNMU».
The event was organized by the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social and Humanitarian Disciplines of the International Faculty of Asfendiyarov KazNMU.
The study of the life and work of Sanzhar Asfendiyarov brought together participants from different countries and cities on the university’s platform.
Scientific reports were presented by representatives of Asfendiyarov KazNMU, the Tashkent State Medical University (Tashkent, Uzbekistan), Sh. Ualikhanov Kokshetau University (Kokshetau), and the Kazakhstan-Russian Medical University (Almaty).
Vice-Rector U.M. Datkhaev and Dean of the International Faculty N.Zh. Zhardemaliyeva in their welcoming remarks emphasized the importance of studying the scientific heritage and activities of S.D. Asfendiyarov, an outstanding scholar and reformer in the fields of education and medicine.
The participants’ reports were presented in three languages — Kazakh, Russian, and English. All participants received certificates, and the authors of the best presentations were awarded I, II and III – degree diplomas.
Participants and guests highlighted the significance of the presented research dedicated to the life and legacy of Sanzhar Asfendiyarov.
