International student festival GXP-FEST 2025 in Moscow
From February 01 to April 18, 2025, the Eurasian Academy of Good Practices with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and the Eurasian Economic Commission held the V International Student Festival “GxP-Fest 2025”. The best students and teachers of specialized universities of the Russian Federation and EAEU countries, representatives of regulators, pharmaceutical companies, as well as experts in the field of professional education gathered on one platform. The main objectives of the event are to attract the attention of students to the pharmaceutical industry, to identify the most promising students as future industry specialists, to generate interest in building an industrial career, as well as to promote the modernization of pharmaceutical education with a focus on industrial pharmacy by introducing innovative educational technologies, including simulation, in the training of future specialists.
In the jubilee year 134 teams from 98 universities of Russia, EAEU and friendly countries registered for the competition program of the festival in the main direction of the Olympiad. The qualifying round was held online on March 13. According to the results of the scored points, 57 teams reached the final round. All of them were invited to the final round, which was held in person in Moscow on April 18 at the site “Red October”. Individual participation for English-speaking students was also envisaged.
On the final day of “GxP-Fest 2025” on 18.04.2025 in Moscow on the site “Krasny Oktyabr” a large number of events took place: pharmaceutical breakfast, “GxP-Quest” and presentation of the best student projects in the areas of “Digital Pharma of the Future” and “Biotechnology in Pharmacy”. Leading pharmaceutical companies held a series of master classes for students, as well as introduced internship programs and employment opportunities.
One of the brightest events of the festival was traditionally an open dialog of regulators, leading experts of the pharmaceutical industry with specialized students and teaching staff of universities.
Participants of the final round of the Olympiad had the opportunity to ask questions to representatives of regulatory authorities, industry experts and top managers of well-known pharmaceutical companies. Open dialogue allowed to find common ground, to attract the attention of students to the development of the pharmaceutical industry, companies — to adjust their personnel strategies, and universities — to improve educational programs in accordance with the current needs of the actively developing industry.
Representatives of the School of Pharmacy of S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University took an active part in the International Educational Festival GxP-Fest, which was held in Moscow.
KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov put up:
- two student teams that participated in the Olympiad in GxP directions (one team was prepared by the Department of Engineering Disciplines and Good Practices, the other — by the Department of Biotechnology and General Chemical Technology)
- a team for the competition «Digital Pharma of the Future».
In the nomination “Digital Pharma of the Future” brilliantly performed a team of master’s students of the 1st year of the School of Pharmacy Shvets Sergei and Ledenev Stanislav. They won the first place, ahead of teams from leading universities from near and far abroad.
Last year at a similar festival Shvets Sergei in the team also took 1st place. Another member of the team, a 3rd year student of the School of Pharmacy Ledenev Stanislav in April this year became the owner of a scholarship awarded by the scientific and educational foundation of Academician Shahmardan Yesenov.
Stanislav came to the Olympiad from St. Petersburg, where with a group of students of the School of Pharmacy of KazNMU within the framework of academic mobility is studying at St. Petersburg State Chemical and Pharmaceutical University.
A great contribution to the preparation for the Olympiad and victory in it was made by the head of the center of pharmacy and pharmacology scientific and technological park KazNMU named after S.D.Asfendiyarov, associate professor, candidate of pharmaceutical sciences Liliya Ibragimova. She prepared the winning team in the nomination “Digital Pharma of the Future”.
Ibragimova L.N. trained 3 teams this year, the most successful of which became the winner of the GXP festival. Her pupil Shvets S. has already won the second year as part of the team at the GXP Festival in Moscow. Lilia Nikolaevna also prepared another member of the winning team — a 3rd year student of the School of Pharmacy Ledenev Stanislav for the competition for the award of scholarship, appointed on a competitive basis by the scientific and educational foundation of Academician Shahmardan Yesenov, the owner of which Stanislav became in April this year.
The participants of the festival visited the Faculty of Chemistry of Moscow State University. There was an informative and interesting excursion to the laboratories of screening of new antibiotics (chemical, analytical, microbiological). They also listened to an open lecture on “Development of optimized structural modifications as dominant”. The lecturer was Konstantin Valeryevich Balakin, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (PFUR), Head of Innovative Drug Development at NII KhimRar, Scientific Secretary of the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences on Medicinal Chemistry.
