Results of the First and Second Rounds of the Intra-University Student Research Competition in the «Pharmacy» Section
At the Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, the 2024–2025 academic year saw the successful conduct of a two-stage intra-university student research competition in the “Pharmacy” section.
Round I (Departmental Level)
Period: November 25, 2024 – January 24, 2025
A total of 88 students from the following departments participated in the first round:
- Department of Pharmaceutical Technology – 26 participants;
- Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry – 17;
- Department of Organization, Management and Economics of Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacy – 11;
- Department of Biotechnology and General Chemical Technology – 6;
- Department of Pharmacognosy with a Course of Botany – 5;
- Department of Engineering Disciplines and Good Practices – 20;
- Department of Chemistry – 3.
As a result of the selection, 56 students were recommended to participate in the second round.
Round II (University Level)
Date: April 1–2, 2025
Location of the event: Building 7, Auditorium No. 9
The second round featured original student research projects characterized by scientific novelty, practical relevance, and high-quality content.

- Mukadas Kaimova (4th year, Educational Program «Technology of Pharmaceutical Production»). Research Topic: «Determining anatomical-diagnostic features and technological parameters of the underground parts of Seseli buchtormensis L.».

- «Best Practically Oriented Student Work» – Aruzhan Amangeldi (4th year, Educational Program «Technology of Pharmaceutical Production»). Prize winners were awarded diplomas and certificates.

Selected Papers for the National Student Research Competition
As part of the second round, several scientific projects, although not awarded prizes, stood out for their originality, scientific rigor, and practical relevance. These projects were selected to represent the university at the National Student Research Competition:
- Temirkhan Tanaguzov (3rd year, Pharmacy program): «Computer modeling of new sulfanilic acid derivatives». Scientific Advisor:K. Boshkayeva, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry
- Asel Adilbekova (3rd year, Pharmacy program): «Project work on organizing proper pharmacy practice conditions». Scientific Advisor:I. Tleubayeva, PhD, Associate Professor, Department of Organization, Management and Economics of Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacy
In total, Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University presented 5 research projects from the «Technology of Pharmaceutical Production» program and 2 projects from the «Pharmacy» program at the National Competition, all highly rated by experts and reflecting current priorities of modern pharmaceutical science and practice.
