The list of partners of the leading medical university of Kazakhstan — KazNMU named after Sanzhar Asfendiyarov is expanding. Today our university was visited by delegation from South Korea. Representatives of a number of clinics, medical centers and hospitals of Puchon South Korean city, as well as mayor of this city arrived in Kazakhstan to establish close contacts with KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov.
«Puchon city has a large number of medical organizations that treat serious diseases. We are very pleased to come to one of the most advanced medical universities in Kazakhstan to sign a memorandum of cooperation. I hope we will cooperate on a number of issues,» said Puchon Mayor Cho Young-ik.
Sung Jong-hyang, director of the University Hospital, expressed hope for long-term and close cooperation with KazNMU named after Sanzhar Asfendiyarov in academic mobility, exchange of students, professors, experience and joint scientific and educational activities.

Marat Shoranov, Rector of KazNMU, said that the Kazakh National Medical University strengthens cooperation with South Korea every year. Now the university closely cooperates with Kyungpook national university hospital (KNUH) and the Secretariat of Forum of Cooperation «CAR — Republic of Korea» with their assistance a seminar on Korean traditional medicine was held. With the assistance of Wonkwang University, academic mobility was provided — two of our interns were trained in South Korea. Professors from Pusan National University Hospital LeeJungsub and Park Wonseok conducted a master class — operations on children with orthopedic pathologies, treatment of congenital spine surgery.
«We are very happy to cooperate with medical and educational centers in South Korea. Our cooperation has a positive impact on the development of health care and medical education. Our university has opened an auditorium named after Yoo Cheol Choo, an oncohematologist known not only in South Korea but also worldwide. He is also an honorary professor of our university and my freelance adviser», noted Rector of KazNMU Marat Shoranov.
The Memorandum of Cooperation between the South Korean Medical Center and KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov includes promotion of mutual academic and scientific exchanges of teachers, employees and students, participation in international educational, scientific and practical activities, as well as organization and conduct of joint professional internships in clinical medicine for medical workers.
The guests from South Korea also visited the Research Institute of Cardiology and Internal Medicine and got acquainted with the work of this institution.
