KazNMU Hosts Preventive Lecture on “Prevention of Religious Extremism and Terrorism”
On January 20, 2026, a preventive lecture entitled “Prevention of Religious Extremism and Terrorism” was held for international students at the Concordia Student Theater.
The guest lecturer was Nurlan Sabituly Murzabayev, an Islamic studies expert from the Department of Religious Affairs of Almaty city.
The main objective of the event was to familiarize international students with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the fundamentals of law and public order, to prevent religious extremism and terrorism, to develop legal awareness, promote tolerance towards culture and religion, and to encourage responsibility and compliance with safety measures in society.
During the lecture, issues related to religious radicalism, its risks, preventive measures, and legal responsibility were discussed in detail. The lecturer also answered questions from the students.
A total of 932 international students attended the event. Such preventive initiatives are aimed at enhancing legal awareness and fostering the values of tolerance, peace, and social responsibility among international youth.
