KazNMU Joins the Global Consortium on Climate and Health Education (GCCHE)
In March 2025, S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University (KazNMU) officially became a member of the Global Consortium on Climate and Health Education (GCCHE), an international network led by Columbia University (USA).
This significant achievement was initiated and organized by the Department of Health Policy and Management of KazNMU, reflecting the department’s active role in advancing global health education and promoting awareness about climate-related health challenges.
GCCHE unites leading medical and public health institutions around the world that are committed to advancing education and research on the health impacts of climate change. KazNMU’s inclusion in the consortium highlights the university’s growing international reputation and its commitment to global health, sustainable development, and climate-related education.
On the GCCHE map, KazNMU is represented as a medical institution located in Almaty, Kazakhstan — making it one of the few recognized universities from Central Asia in this esteemed global network.
Membership in GCCHE offers KazNMU new opportunities for international collaboration, knowledge exchange, and active participation in global initiatives to train healthcare professionals in the era of climate change.
