Medical Traditions: The Fifth Medico-Psychological Mission to Remote Areas of the Almaty Region
Continuing the glorious medical traditions of providing comprehensive medical and psychological assistance in remote regions, the fifth visiting mission of a multidisciplinary team of specialists to the Kegen District Hospital of the Almaty region took place from November 4 to 7, 2025. The mission was organized by the Department of Communication Skills of the NJSC «Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University» (KazNMU).
This time, the mission was formed by physician-lecturers from various leading universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The multidisciplinary team of doctors accepted more than 150 patients with various diseases. The mission was medico-psychological in nature, emphasizing a comprehensive approach to public health.
The visiting team included professors of KazNMU: Professor of the Department of «Endocrinology», Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Abylaiuly Zhangentkhan; Professor of the Department of «Communication Skills», psychotherapist/neuropsychiatrist Bagiyarova Fatima Arystanovna; Head of the Department of «Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine», Candidate of Medical Sciences Izbasarova Akmaral Shaimerdenovna, as well as Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences Asimov Marat Abubakrievich, Professor of the School of Higher Psychology at Turan University, and Pediatrician, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Karimkhanova Akbota Toktarnazynovna from KRMU.
As part of the mission, aimed at maintaining the unity of practice and science, a training was conducted for medical workers on the topic: «Communication skills and ways to resolve conflicts in the medical environment.»
During their work, the doctors provided recommendations to enhance the specialization of specialists in the pediatric rehabilitation department, which is fully equipped with modern technologies, to create a school for parents of children with special needs (which is a highly relevant measure today), and to continue the cooperation between remote areas and the teaching staff of medical universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The administration of the Kegen District Hospital and the residents of the district expressed their deep gratitude to the mission participants. On behalf of the head K. Baikubeeva, letters of gratitude were presented to the doctors who participated in this mission, as well as to the rectors of the medical universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan who took part in this noble cause.
