Neurorehabilitation: Vectors of Development
On August 30, a Republican conference titled “Neurorehabilitation: Vectors of Development” was held in the city of Uralsk, dedicated to the problems of modern neurology and interdisciplinary issues, particularly relevant to the treatment of patients with motor disorders and rehabilitation approaches for recovery after stroke with speech impairments.
The scientific organizers of the conference were LLP “West Kazakhstan Higher Medical College,” LLP “Medical Rehabilitation Center ‘Meirim’” in Uralsk, and the State Communal Enterprise on the Right of Economic Management “Burlin District Hospital” of the Health Department of the West Kazakhstan Region.
The conference was opened with a welcoming speech by Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences, holder of the “Parasat” Order, Kamidolla Mutigollaevich Irmenov, Chairman of the Board of the West Kazakhstan Higher Medical College. The moderator and coordinator of the event was the region’s chief freelance neurologist, A.G. Zhuldugulova.
Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov actively participated in this important event for the western region of Kazakhstan, represented by the Head of the Department of Nervous Diseases, Chief Freelance Neurologist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, S.T. Turuspekova, who presented reports on: Neurological Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Neurological Standard. Development Strategies of Neurological Service; Dementia. National Strategy for Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. Also, the assistant of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Head of the Neurorehabilitation Department of City Clinical Hospital No.1 in Almaty, Chief Freelance Rehabilitologist of the Almaty Health Department, A.B. Seidanova, gave presentations on: Organization of Rehabilitation after Stroke, Standards, Regulatory Legal Acts. Current Situation of Neurorehabilitation; Rehabilitation for Motor Disorders.
Almaty universities were also represented by Kazakh-Russian Medical University through A.S. Kudaybergenova, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Head of the Neurology and Neurorehabilitation Continuing Education Cycles, who presented reports on post-stroke shoulder and spasticity problems, as well as modern approaches in the therapy of dorsopathies.
Experts from leading scientific centers of the country also participated in the event, including G.K. Taytubaeva, Candidate of Medical Sciences, certified botulinum therapy trainer, Associate Professor of the Department of Rehabilitology and Sports Medicine at the Medical University of Astana; R.D. Ospanbayeva, speech therapist-defectologist, music therapist, founder of the Speech Therapists School in Astana; S.A. Aidarov, neurologist-consultant of the Functional Neurosurgery Group at the National Neurosurgery Center in Astana; Zh.T. Myrzaev, specialist in motor disorders, chairman of the public association “Motor Disorders Society – Eurasia” in Almaty; A.B. Barbosinova, neurologist and rehabilitologist at the Smagul Kaishibaev Institute of Neurology and Neurorehabilitation in Almaty; and D.D. Dyatlov, specialist in ergorehabilitation from Astana.
The conference drew great interest from the audience, which included neurologists, general practitioners, rehabilitologists, ergotherapists, physical therapy instructors, speech therapists-defectologists, aphasiologists, and organizers of healthcare and medical education in the region.
