Orientation Week has started at the KazNMU School of Pharmacy
September 2 marked the start of another academic year at universities across the country. Freshers starting their studies need special attention and support. They need help and support from the dean’s office and other university departments.
At the S.D. Asfendiyarov KazNMU School of Pharmacy, an “organizational week” is planned for freshmen at the beginning of September to help them with many organizational issues: settling into the dormitory, obtaining an ID card, creating a login and password for each student’s personal page, registering with the library, and many others.
The orientation (organizational) week is designed to help first-year students resolve all of the above issues more quickly and adapt to full-fledged student life more quickly.
Orientation week is intended for all first-year students of the School of Pharmacy enrolled in educational programs. This year, 223 people enrolled in the Pharmaceutical Production Technology program, of which 180 will study on a grant and 43 on a contract basis. Seventy people enrolled in the Pharmacy program, 18 of whom will study on a grant and 52 under contract. The duration of study for the Pharmaceutical Production Technology program is four years, and for the Pharmacy program, five years. One hundred and four people will begin studying in the Pharmacy program with a reduced duration of study.
On the initiative of the dean of the School of Pharmacy, Professor Sakipova Z.B., the educational program B085 – “Pharmacy” with a reduced duration of study on a paid basis is being actively implemented at KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov. This program is offered to candidates who have completed a pharmaceutical education at a college (TIPO) or other higher education institution. The duration of study is from 2 to 3 years, depending on the previous level of education and its profile. For example, graduates of OP TFP study for 2 years, and those who have completed TIPO (pharmaceutical department of a medical college) study for 3 years.
An individual study plan is drawn up for each student enrolled in a shortened program, depending on their previous level of education and the subjects they have studied at the previous level.
This training option is becoming popular because it allows students to combine university studies with work in their specialty. This academic year, 104 applicants enrolled in the Pharmacy program with a reduced training period.
On September 2, the first meeting of first-year students with the management of the School of Pharmacy and university departments took place in the CONCORDIA hall.
The dean of the School of Pharmacy, Professor Sakipova Z.B., congratulated the first-year students on the start of their studies, told them about the School of Pharmacy, and showed a film about the achievements of the Faculty of Pharmacy (now the School of Pharmacy) over the past 70 years.
