Overcoming “Off” Periods: Modern Challenges in the Treatment of Advanced Parkinson’s Disease
On April 7, 2026, a scientific seminar in the format of a round table was held at the Stroke School of City Clinical Hospital No. 7 (Almaty), on the topic: “Difficulties in the Treatment of Advanced Stages of Parkinson’s Disease.”
The keynote presentation was delivered by Klara Kanatovna Almakhanova, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Nervous Diseases at S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University.
During the presentation, current challenges in managing patients with advanced Parkinson’s disease were discussed in detail, including difficulties in therapy selection, reduced effectiveness of standard treatment methods, and the need for an individualized approach to patient care.
Special attention was given to:
- modern therapeutic strategies for late-stage disease;
- analysis of clinical cases;
- issues related to improving patients’ quality of life;
- implementation of new approaches in neurological practice.
The round table brought together neurologists and healthcare practitioners, serving as a platform for professional dialogue and exchange of experience.
