IX Annual International Summer School “Actual problems of public health: Health Economics”
In order to implement the main activities of “Comprehensive plan on the implementation of the development strategy of KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov, for 2017-2018 academic year”, the staff of the department “Health Policy and Management with a course of medical law”, organized and held a Summer School on the topic: “Actual problems of public health: Health Economics”, during 14-19 May, 2018.
In Summer School took part master and PhD candidates from Kazakh Medical University of Continuing Education, Higher School of Public Health, as well as master students and Phd candidates of Kazakh National Medical University, on specialty «Public Health».
The participants of the Summer School were greeted by the dean of the School of Public Health named after Khalel Dosmukhamedov, candidate of medical science K.K. Davletov, and Head of the Department «Health Policy and Management with a Course of Medical Law» MD, B.S. Turdaliyeva.
The seminars were conducted by professor, Corresponding Member of NAS RK, Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC «Medical University Astana», MD, T.K. Rakhypbekov.
The goal of this Summer School was studying the principles of the economy in public health.
The Seminars of Summer School were held in the mode of interactive learning, including work in small groups, discussions, role plays, practical works with scientific databases, including formation of the issue, data search and analysis of reliable scientific data etc. The training was conducted at the Department «Health Policy and Management with a course of medical law».
The seminar topics: «Review of the national financing system in different countries: experience and lessons of compulsory medical insurance fund, analytical views on compulsory medical insurance fund», «Alternative methods of payment for medical services and their impact to health care system», «Economics for non-economists. Economics in Healthcare», «Methods of Economic Analysis», «Marketing in Health Care», «Business Planning. Reports of team leaders according given tasks».
All participants were awarded by certificates.
Participants of the Summer School gave a positive feedback about quality of training and organization of seminars. As well as, noted relevance of the topic, richness of the program and excellent presentations.
