Republican Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation «Interdisciplinary Neurology: Problems and Solutions»
On March 13-14, 2025, the international scientific and practical conference “Interdisciplinary Neurology: Problems and Solutions” was held in Astana. The conference was organized by the Department of Neurology of the Medical University of Astana (MUA), led by Head of the Department, PhD in Medicine, L.E. Eszhanova, in collaboration with the Public Association “Society of Neurologists and Neurorehabilitologists ‘Densaulyq’”, and supported by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Leading specialists in neurology from Kazakhstan, the United Kingdom, Turkey, and Russia participated in the event, discussing the most pressing issues in neurology, neurogenetics, and neurorehabilitation. The conference opened with welcome speeches by Deputy Minister of Health of Kazakhstan, T.M. Muratov, Vice-Rector of MUA, V.V. Koikov, and Chief Freelance Neurologist of the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan, Head of the Department of Nervous Diseases at KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov, S.T. Turuspekova.
Conference Goals
The main goal of the conference was to discuss innovative, clinical, and scientific perspectives aimed at addressing current issues in differential diagnosis and selecting the appropriate therapy for neurological diseases.
The conference sessions were structured as specialized schools with master classes:
- Pain School (all types of pain, including migraines)
- School of Autoimmune and Rare Diseases
- School of Vascular and Neurodegenerative Diseases
- School of Epilepsy and Insomnia
The Department of Nervous Diseases at KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov played an active role in the conference. Key speakers included:
- S.T. Turuspekova, Head of the Department, who presented a report on “Neuropeptides: Therapeutic Potential in Neurological Practice”.
- Professor E.S. Nurguzhaev, who delivered a lecture on “Lower Back Pain: Basic Principles of Therapy”.
These presentations generated significant interest among the audience.
