Results of the First and Second Rounds of the Intra-University Student Scientific Research Competition in the School of Pharmacy Section and the Results of the Republican Student Scientific Research Competition (SSRC)

In the 2024–2025 academic year, a two-stage intra-university Student Scientific Research Competition was held at the Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov in the “Pharmacy” section.

Round I (Departmental Level)

Dates: November 25, 2024 – January 24, 2025
A total of 88 students participated from the following departments:

• Department of Pharmaceutical Technology – 26 participants
• Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry – 17 participants
• Department of Organization, Management and Economics of Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacy – 11 participants
• Department of Biotechnology and General Chemical Technology – 6 participants
• Department of Pharmacognosy with a course in Botany – 5 participants
• Department of Engineering Disciplines and Good Practices – 20 participants
• Department of Chemistry – 3 participants

As a result of the selection, 56 students were recommended for participation in the second round of the competition.

Round II (University Level)

Date: April 1–2, 2025
Venue: Building 7, Auditorium No. 9

The second round featured original student projects distinguished by scientific novelty, practical relevance, and high quality of content.

Additional Selected Projects for the Republican Student Scientific Research Competition

As part of the second round of the intra-university competition in the “Pharmacy” Educational Program, several student scientific works were recognized for their originality, scientific rigor, and practical value, even though they did not win prizes.

The following students were selected to represent the university at the Republican Student Scientific Research Competition:

In total, Asfendiyarov KazNMU submitted 5 scientific works under the “Technology of Pharmaceutical Production” program and 2 under the “Pharmacy” program to the Republican SSRC. These works were highly rated by the expert committees and reflect current trends in pharmaceutical science and practice.

Republican Student Scientific Research Competition (SSRC)

The Republican SSRC is held annually to foster the scientific potential of students, stimulate research activity, and identify talented young researchers. It is organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan in collaboration with the country’s leading universities.

Undergraduate and internship students submit projects in various fields: medicine, pharmacy, natural and technical sciences, social sciences and humanities, and others. After a preliminary university-level selection, the best works are forwarded to the national stage.

Winners and prize holders are awarded diplomas and letters of appreciation, and their scientific supervisors receive certificates of recognition. Participation in the competition enhances students’ academic motivation, research skills, and preparation for future scientific work.
