SCIENCE GRANT OF KAZNMU AND PRACTICAL HEALTH CARE IN THE FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19.

Doctor of Medical Sciences of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor Musayev A. has won the intra-university grant competition for scientific research in the field of medicine and healthcare on the topic «The state of cellular immunity and intestinal microbiome in patients with COVID-19 after the treatment of Saumal». He has got awarded a certificate in the amount of 21 million 707 thousand tenges by the rector of KazNMU named after Asfendiyarov, Nurgozhin T.S. A temporary research team, including the teaching staff, PhD, residents, interns and students of the university, has been organized recently. Also, the team consists of doctors of practical healthcare, with the leadership of the Public Health Department of Almaty, headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Tabynbaev N.B. and chief physicians of medical and preventive institutions.
The aim of this project is a free supply of Saumal, a natural product with antiviral, antioxidant and immunostimulating properties. The project plans a special study in patients with COVID-19 that includes the following: determination of the gut microbiome and the phospholipid spectrum of its cell membranes. It is necessary to reveal the effectiveness of the domestic product Saumal in the therapy of COVID-19. Thus, we support the policy of the government of Kazakhstan, dedicated to introducing domestically produced drugs for therapeutic and recreational activities. Our research is also dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
