The importance of integration and strengthening partnership in early childhood development
Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov received a UNICEF delegation to discuss the development of pediatrics and strengthen cooperation in the field of child health and development. The delegation included Alexandra Djovich, an early childhood development specialist at the UNICEF Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia, Zorica Trikic, a consultant at the UNICEF Regional Office for Patronage, and Baurzhan Zhusupov, Head of Health and Nutrition Programs at the UNICEF Office in Kazakhstan.
The first vice-rector of KazNMU Dilara Radicovna Kaidarova and the faculty of the School of Pediatrics acted as the host. During the meeting, key issues were discussed, including the development of pediatrics through increased attention to early childhood development in the training of pediatricians and other doctors, familiarization with the work of UNICEF in Kazakhstan on child health and development, including the introduction of Guidelines for monitoring early Development and the role of KazNMU in this process. The prospects for future cooperation between UNICEF and the university were also discussed.
The meeting emphasized the importance of integrating early childhood development issues into the system of medical education and practice, as well as strengthening partnerships between international organizations and national educational institutions to improve the health and well-being of children in Kazakhstan.
