The extremely high risk of chronic consequences as a result of exposure to heavy metals in the air composition of the city of Almaty poses a serious threat to public health. Foreign experience highlights the need for action on air quality, both in terms of awareness and education, and with the aim of taking active measures to reduce pollution levels.
\nSince pregnant women, mothers and children are vulnerable to environmental pollution, the study will focus on developing recommendations for protecting their health.
\nThis project, funded by the US Embassy in Almaty, is carried out with the participation of a PhD student of KazNMU and master students from both universities.
\nDuring the visit to KazNMU the main coordinator of the project, Professor Hyunok Choi and Vice-Rector for Corporate Development of the University Ubaidilla Datkhaev discussed the further continuation of scientific and academic work with Lehigh University.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
