As part of the signed memorandum of cooperation between the Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov, Almaty, Kazakhstan and the Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali Ibn Sino, Bukhara, Uzbekistan, implemented an academic mobility program for teachers.<\/p>\n

Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Chemistry Almagul A. Almabekova was invited to the Department of Medical Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Bukhara State Medical Institute, where she underwent two-week academic mobility from 04\/22\/2024 to 04\/27\/2024 in offline format and from 04\/29\/2024 to 05\/04. 2024 in online format.<\/p>\n

Acquaintance with the Department of Medicinal Chemistry began from the laboratory of the department. Colleagues from BukhSMI introduced the main scientific directions of the department, presented laboratory and research equipment, which is used both for scientific purposes and for the educational process at the department. The operation of an IR spectrometer for studying the structure of an organic compound was clearly demonstrated.<\/p>\n

During academic mobility, A. Almabekova read lectures on chemistry to 1st-2nd year students for the specialty \u201cGeneral Medicine\u201d, \u201cStomatology\u201d on the topics: \u201cAlfa-amino acids, peptides, proteins\u201d, \u201cCarbohydrates. Monosaccharides, disaccharides, polysaccharides\u201d. Practical and laboratory classes in Medical Chemistry were also conducted for 1st year students in Russian and English.<\/p>\n

At a joint meeting with the heads of the departments of Medicinal Chemistry Hasan K. Bakhromov and Biochemistry Feruza M. Nurutdinova, open practical classes by teachers A. Almabekova (KazNMU) and N. Safarova (BukhSMI), conducted on the same topic, were discussed. During the discussion, issues of interdisciplinary integration of chemistry and biochemistry were touched upon, and positive aspects were found in two teaching methods, which can be used in the future in both departments.<\/p>\n

A comparative analysis of syllabuses, thematic plans, test questions, situational problems, and test items in chemistry was also made. Mutual and useful recommendations were given. Particular attention was paid to educational and methodological literature in Russian and English, used in the educational process of two universities. We exchanged experience in conducting interactive teaching methods with the leading teacher of the Department of Medicinal Chemistry, the author of a manual on interactive teaching methods, Nafisa S. Safarova.<\/p>\n

As part of academic mobility, all the set goals were achieved. Events were discussed and plans were outlined for further exchange of experience in educational and scientific work, cooperation between our universities.<\/p>\n

Colleagues from BukhSMI are not only good teachers, but also patriots of their city — their small Motherland, who know the history of their native land. They took a tour of the old city and told about the formation of Bukhara. Nowadays, the ancient part of Bukhara still remains a \u201cliving\u201d city that has preserved its original structure — the Ark fortress, Shahristan, and the Shahrud.<\/p>\n

We express our gratitude to the heads of the two partner universities, the rector of KazNMU Marat E. Shoranov and the rector of BukhSMI Shukhrat Zh. Teshaev for the opportunity to exchange experience, enrich knowledge, and cultural enrichment.<\/p>\n
