On April 25\u201326, 2025, the 8th Annual Volga Neurological Forum \u201cAdvances in Clinical Neurology\u201d took place in Kazan.<\/p>\n
The Neurological Forum in Kazan has become a well-established tradition, based on the rich scientific legacy of the Kazan neurological school on the one hand, and on the broad academic outlook of modern neurological schools, university departments, and neurological clinics from the Republic of Tatarstan, the Volga region, and other parts of Russia on the other.<\/p>\n
The Forum traditionally gathered specialists in all fields of neurology, as well as professionals from related areas\u2014neurophysiologists, neurorehabilitation specialists, epileptologists, manual medicine practitioners, and reflexotherapists\u2014in the Kazan Town Hall. Leading experts presented participants with the most advanced and up-to-date information in the fields of neurodiagnostics, pharmacotherapy, neurogenetics, and neurorehabilitation across a wide range of neurological conditions.<\/p>\n
The Forum highlighted the latest developments in related neurosciences and molecular genetics, which have significant practical applications in everyday neurological practice. This year\u2019s Forum addressed topics such as early diagnosis of motor disorders, features of psychiatric conditions in neurological practice, and chronic pain syndromes in general medical practice. It also explored current issues in geriatric neurology and the broad potential of genetic, neuroimaging, and neurophysiological research methods.<\/p>\n
Speakers from major research institutes and clinics in Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Ufa, Khabarovsk, Kemerovo, Novokuznetsk, Saint Petersburg, Kazan, Almaty, and other cities gave presentations.<\/p>\n
The Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov was represented at the Forum by Associate Professor of the Department of Neurology, Candidate of Medical Sciences Elmira Balabekovna Atantaeva, who presented a talk titled \u201cPsychotechnologies in Neurological Practice.\u201d Her presentation drew genuine interest from the audience, and following the session, a journalist from TatarChannel conducted an interview with Dr. Atantaeva.<\/p>\n
Psychotherapy in neurological practice is becoming an integral part of the treatment of almost all neurological disorders and syndromes and is included in nearly all clinical protocols of the Ministry of Health.<\/p>\n
There were many fascinating and informative presentations on topics such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, hypertensive crises, anxiety disorders, adult ADHD, pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric syndrome with acute onset (PANS), and many others.<\/p>\n
