On May 2, 2025, a scientific and educational seminar titled \u201cPeculiarities of Pediatric Neurology in the Context of Immunization\u201d was held in the city of Shymkent, Kazakhstan. The event was organized with the support of the Health Department of Shymkent as part of an awareness initiative aimed at enhancing the knowledge of healthcare professionals.<\/p>\n
The keynote speaker at the seminar was Dr. Radmila Timsonovna Tsoy, a neurologist, PhD, and assistant professor at the Department of Neurology of the S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University.<\/p>\n
During her lecture, Dr. Tsoy addressed critical aspects of immunoprophylaxis in pediatric neurology, highlighting the importance of timely vaccination in preventing neurological complications, reducing child mortality, and building resilience against infectious diseases. She also presented up-to-date data on how neurological conditions can affect adherence to vaccination schedules, as well as strategies for individualized vaccination approaches in children with chronic neurological disorders.<\/p>\n
Particular attention from the audience was drawn to clinical case studies and scientific findings on the correlation between pneumococcal infection and the risk of complications in children with neurological pathologies.<\/p>\n
The seminar\u2019s target audience included heads of pediatric departments at primary healthcare organizations, pediatricians, general practitioners, community nurses, vaccination specialists, and epidemiologists. More than 30 specialists from Shymkent and the Turkistan Region attended the event.<\/p>\n
The main goal of the seminar was to promote increased vaccination coverage and adherence to immunization schedules among children, especially those in high-risk groups, in line with the latest medical advancements and international guidelines.<\/p>\n
