On September 5, 2025, the scientific-practical conference «Neurology in the Light of Modern Global Trends» took place as part of the XVIII International Congress «Human and Medicine-Kazakhstan.» The Congress was included in the 2025 Scientific-Practical Events Plan of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The conference was held in a hybrid format. The event was organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov, the Association of Neurologists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Department of Neurological Diseases. The moderators of the conference were the President of the Association of Neurologists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor of the Department of Neurological Diseases at KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov, Nurguzhayev E.S., and Associate Professor of the Department of Neurological Diseases, Nurjanova R.B.<\/p>\n
The conference program covered the most pressing issues and challenges of modern neurology, such as somatoform, neurotic, and neurosis-like mental disorders, and sleep disturbances in patients with basic approaches to insomnia treatment (Raspopova N.I., Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor at the «KRMU» University, psychiatrist of the highest category; Baidauletova A.I., Candidate of Medical Sciences, neurologist, somnologist, Neuroclinic); The role of prolonged antipsychotic therapy in relation to patient mortality (Altynbekov S.A., Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor at the Department of Psychiatry, Zaltsman National Medical University, President of the Association of Psychiatrists); Post-stroke cognitive disorders, clinical features of ischemic heart disease, and modern therapeutic approaches (Nurjanova R.B., Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Neurological Diseases at KazNMU, Yeshanova L.E., Professor, Head of the Department of Neurology at MUA, Kudaibergenova A.S., Candidate of Medical Sciences, Head of the educational course on «Neurology and Neurorehabilitation» at KRMU).<\/p>\n
The spectrum of anxiety symptoms in the practice of a doctor and how to help the patient was discussed by Atantaeva E.B., Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Neurological Diseases at KazNMU, Honored Professor of the Research Center of the Institute of Philosophy. Pain syndromes were the subject of reports by speakers such as Nurguzhayev E.S., Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor at the Department of Neurological Diseases at KazNMU, Chairman of the «Association of Neurologists» NGO; Abilova G.T., Master of Medicine, neurologist-rehabilitation specialist of the highest category, Senior Lecturer in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at KRMU, and at the Rehabilitation Center «Rekinetix.» The issues of Spinal Muscular Atrophy in adults were covered by the report of Associate Professor Nurjanova R.B. The reports by the department’s staff generated genuine interest and lively discussion in the hall and in the live stream.
