On February 19, 2026, the department of microbiology, virology at Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov hosted a memorable literary and musical evening titled \u201cMukagali: Revived in Song and Poetry\u201d, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Kazakh poet Mukagali Makataev.<\/p>\n
The event was organized under the guidance of the department\u2019s faculty members and brought together students and professors in an \u0430\u0442\u043c\u043e\u0441phere of creativity, inspiration, and spiritual unity.<\/p>\n
A special vibrancy and emotional depth were added by second-year students of the \u201cMedicine\u201d educational program, who actively prepared and conducted the evening under the careful mentorship of the department. The future doctors demonstrated not only professionalism and dedication to their chosen career, but also spiritual maturity, creativity, and a genuine appreciation for Kazakhstan\u2019s literary heritage.<\/p>\n
The main purpose of the evening was to broaden students\u2019 cultural horizons, foster humanistic values, and unlock their creative potential. Such initiatives are especially important in medical education, as the medical profession requires not only strong academic knowledge and clinical skills, but also empathy, moral responsibility, and a high level of emotional intelligence.<\/p>\n
Throughout the event, guests had the opportunity to explore the life and literary legacy of Mukagali Makataev. Heartfelt poems were recited by students of the General medicine-1 advisory groups as well as by faculty members of the department \u2014 professor K.Mustafina, associate professors N.Taurbayeva, T.Begadilova, A.Igisenova, and assistant professor Z.Khandilla. Their performances created a meaningful atmosphere of intergenerational continuity and deep respect for spiritual values. Musical compositions based on Mukagali\u2019s poetry added warmth, harmony, and sincerity to the evening, enriching it with emotion and inspiration.<\/p>\n

The honored guest of the evening was Bibigul Seitkhanova, doctor of medical sciences, professor, and head of the department of microbiology, allergology and immunology at South Kazakhstan Medical Academy. The event was also attended by General medicine-1 chief specialist Asem Kanapiyayeva.<\/p>\n
