From March 23 to 27, 2026, the in-person stage of the International Olympiad on Disaster Medicine was held in Moscow at the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University. The event brought together 16 of the strongest student teams from different countries.<\/p>\n
Kazakhstan and S.D. Asfendiyarov KazNMU were \u0434\u043e\u0441\u0442\u043e\u0439\u043d\u043e represented by the team \u201cNeural Synapses,\u201d which demonstrated a high level of training, professionalism, and innovative clinical thinking.<\/p>\n
The team was supervised by Masters of Medicine, assistant professors of the Emergency Medical Care Department, Balkanay G.B. and Yeleusiz M.E. The participants successfully completed an intensive program \u043c\u0430\u043a\u0441\u0438\u043c\u0430\u043b\u044c\u043d\u043e close to real-life conditions.<\/p>\n
Participants were required to:<\/p>\n
solve 10 complex situational tasks across 8 specialized stations;
\ndemonstrate tactical medicine skills at the Military Training Center;
\ntake part in a large-scale emergency response scenario, \u201cExplosion in a Caf\u00e9.\u201d<\/p>\n
In conditions demanding rapid decision-making, coordinated teamwork, and high stress resilience, KazNMU students proved themselves as true future professionals.<\/p>\n
Following the results of the Olympiad, the team \u201cNeural Synapses\u201d was awarded an honorary diploma and won the \u201cMost Creative Team\u201d nomination. The organizers especially noted the originality of their problem-solving approach and their strong practical training.<\/p>\n
