On May 23\u201324, 2026, the International Scientific and Practical Conference \u201cInnovations, Current Issues and Advances in Neuroscience: At the Intersection of Research and Patient Care\u201d was held in Kyrgyzstan within the framework of the II Forum of Neurosurgeons and Neurologists of the Kyrgyz Republic. The event was dedicated to the memory of the outstanding scientist and academician Arstanbek Murzalievich Murzaliev.<\/p>\n
The conference was devoted to the 95th anniversary of Academician A.M. Murzaliev \u2014 an outstanding Soviet and Kyrgyz medical scientist, founder of the Kyrgyz school of neurology, who made a significant contribution to the development of neurological science, education, and practical healthcare in Kyrgyzstan. Symbolically, the event took place in his native region of Issyk-Ata, a picturesque location where leading specialists in neurology, neurosurgery, neurorehabilitation, and related disciplines gathered.<\/p>\n
The Organizing Committee was chaired by Mitalip Mamytovich Mamytov \u2014 Hero of the Kyrgyz Republic, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, President of the Association of Neurosurgeons of the Kyrgyz Republic, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, and Head of the Department of Neurosurgery at the I.K. Akhunbaev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy.<\/p>\n
The Organizing Committee also included leading specialists of the Kyrgyz Republic:

The conference brought together specialists from the Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, T\u00fcrkiye, Belarus, Russia, and other countries, highlighting the high international level of the event and the relevance of the issues discussed in modern neuroscience.<\/p>\n
The Republic of Kazakhstan was represented by leading experts in neurology and rehabilitation medicine. Yerkin Smagulovich Nurguzhayev, Chairman of the Association of Neurologists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Medical Sciences, and Professor of the Department of Nervous Diseases at Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, delivered a presentation titled \u201cTreatment of Ischemic Stroke in Kazakhstan: Key Stages of Control, Therapy, and Rehabilitation.\u201d<\/p>\n
Saule Tleubergenovna Turuspekova, Head of the Department of Nervous Diseases at Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, Doctor of Medical Sciences, and Chief Neurologist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, presented a report entitled \u201cNeuropeptides: Therapeutic Potential in Neurological Practice,\u201d dedicated to modern approaches in neuroprotective therapy and the prospects of neuropeptide use in various neurological diseases.<\/p>\n
Aigul Tulebaevna Altynbekova, Deputy Chairperson of the Management Board for Medical Affairs of the National Children\u2019s Rehabilitation Center (Astana), delivered a presentation titled \u201cPediatric Rehabilitation Services in Kazakhstan.\u201d The report highlighted modern approaches to organizing pediatric rehabilitation care, issues of interdisciplinary collaboration, and prospects for the development of rehabilitation services in the Republic of Kazakhstan.<\/p>\n
During the conference, participants discussed current issues in neuroscience, neurosurgery, vascular neurology, neurorehabilitation, neurodegenerative and hereditary diseases of the nervous system, as well as innovative approaches to patient diagnosis and treatment. Participants emphasized the high scientific level of the presentations, the importance of international cooperation, and the need to further strengthen professional ties among specialists from Central Asian countries.<\/p>\n
The forum became an important platform for exchanging experience, discussing modern achievements in neuroscience, and preserving the continuity of scientific schools established by Academician A.M. Murzaliev.<\/p>\n
