On May 21, 2026, the II International Subject Olympiad in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacognosy for students of the educational program \u201cPharmacy\u201d, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the School of Pharmacy, was held at Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University. The Olympiad brought together talented students, young researchers, and faculty members from leading medical and pharmaceutical universities of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n
The Olympiad was attended by 13 teams representing 8 universities from the Republic of Kazakhstan and neighboring countries.<\/p>\n
The Olympiad program included several stages: creative team presentations in the format of video clips, testing in the disciplines \u201cPharmaceutical Chemistry\u201d and \u201cPharmacognosy,\u201d as well as solving situational tasks aimed at assessing knowledge and skills in pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmacognosy, professional competence, and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practical activities.<\/p>\n
The Olympiad’s opening ceremony was attended by Zurriyadda Bektemirovna Sakipova, Dean of the School of Pharmacy at KazNMU, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Professor, and Asyl Kenesovna Boshkayeva, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Associate Professor. The event was organized and moderated by representatives of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry and the Department of Pharmacognosy with a Course in Botany at KazNMU. Moderator: V.S. An, Lecturer of the Department of Pharmacognosy with a Course in Botany.<\/p>\n
The stages were evaluated by an international jury consisting of representatives of leading universities and scientific organizations of Kazakhstan and abroad, including the Institute of Botany and Phytointroduction. Elmira Sailaukhanovna Sametova, Candidate of Biological Sciences and Chief Scientific Secretary of the Institute of Botany and Phytointroduction, served as the Chairperson and independent member of the jury.<\/p>\n
According to the results of the Olympiad, winners were determined in various competition categories.<\/p>\n
In the video presentation contest, the team \u201cFarma Elite\u201d from the Pharmaceutical Institute of Education and Research (Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan) won first place, demonstrating a high level of creativity, professional training, and teamwork.<\/p>\n
In the testing competition:<\/p>\n
— 1st place was awarded to the team \u201cAnalitik\u201d (Asfendiyarov KazNMU);
\n— 2nd place was shared by the teams \u201cPhyto-Impuls\u201d (TashPharmI, Uzbekistan) and \u201cFarmiki\u201d (Bashkir State Medical University, Russian Federation);
\n— 3rd place was shared by the teams \u201cVitaNova\u201d (Asfendiyarov KazNMU), \u201cPhytoPharma\u201d (Astana Medical University), \u201cPolifarmistan\u201d (Astana Medical University), and \u201cEkstrakt Nastroeniya\u201d (Kazakhstan-Russian Medical University).<\/p>\n
In the situational task-solving stage:<\/p>\n
— 1st place was awarded to the team \u201cShipager\u201d (Kazakhstan-Russian Medical University);<\/p>\n
— 2nd place was shared by the teams \u201cPharm-Impuls\u201d (TashPharmI, Uzbekistan) and \u201cVitaNova\u201d (Asfendiyarov KazNMU);<\/p>\n
— 3rd place was awarded to the teams \u201cPyatyy Element\u201d (Asfendiyarov KazNMU), \u201cPharmCare\u201d (\u201cBolashaq\u201d Academy), and \u201cFarmiki\u201d (Bashkir State Medical University, Russian Federation).<\/p>\n
In addition, according to the results of the II International Subject Olympiad, the team \u201cASMI-Pharm\u201d from Andijan State Medical Institute of the Republic of Uzbekistan received the special award \u201cActive Participation\u201d for its high level of involvement, commitment to professional development, and \u0434\u043e\u0441\u0442\u043e\u0439\u043d\u043e\u0435 representation of its educational institution at the international Olympiad platform.<\/p>\n
