June 26, 2026<\/strong> \u2013 A large-scale medical symposium organized by Xinjiang Medical University<\/strong> was held at the Shangde Hotel in Urumqi, People’s Republic of China. The event took place within the framework of the China\u2013Central Asia Conference on Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research, and Practical Application<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A key highlight of the opening ceremony was a congratulatory video address by Vice Rector Svetlana Sultangaziyeva<\/strong>, who, on behalf of Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University (KazNMU)<\/strong>, extended sincere congratulations to Xinjiang Medical University on the occasion of its 70th anniversary and acknowledged its outstanding contribution to the advancement of medical education and science.<\/p>\n

In her address, Vice Rector Sultangaziyeva congratulated Xinjiang Medical University on its milestone anniversary, emphasizing its significant achievements in educating highly qualified healthcare professionals and advancing medical research. She noted that the symposium serves as an important platform for dialogue, enabling the exchange of expertise and strengthening cooperation in academic mobility, joint scientific research, and clinical education.<\/p>\n

The address also reflected the continuing development of the partnership between the two universities. Earlier, on May 13, 2026<\/strong>, KazNMU hosted an official meeting between Vice Rector Svetlana Sultangaziyeva, Head of the Department of Nephrology Abai Shepetov<\/strong>, and a delegation from Xinjiang Medical University. During the meeting, the parties discussed practical steps toward integrating educational and research programs.<\/p>\n

A major outcome of the symposium was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding<\/strong> between KazNMU and Xinjiang Medical University, formally establishing a long-term cooperation framework and opening a new chapter in collaboration between the two institutions in the fields of medicine and healthcare.<\/p>\n

The symposium at the Shangde Hotel brought together leading experts from China, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan. The scientific program featured discussions on cutting-edge topics, ranging from the discovery of bioactive compounds in medicinal plants of Central Asia to the application of brain\u2013computer interface technologies in the treatment of pediatric epilepsy.<\/p>\n

KazNMU’s participation in international forums of this scale reaffirms its position as one of the leading medical universities in the region, actively promoting the integration of science, education, and clinical practice within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
