KazNMU Hosts Student Meeting with Experts from the International Erasmus+ EduCATIA Project
On October 7, 2026, an information and educational event for students took place at the S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University as part of the «Capacity Building in Kazakhstan» initiative, which is being implemented within the framework of the international project «Advanced Training in Artificial Intelligence Technologies for Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.»
Fifty KazNMU students participated in the event, representing various university schools: the School of Public Health, the School of Medicine, the School of Pediatrics, the School of Pharmacy, and the School of Dentistry.
During the meeting, participants were introduced to the goals, structure, and mission of the EduCATIA project, as well as its key outcomes and future directions. Particular emphasis was placed on developing artificial intelligence skills and raising student awareness regarding the opportunities for its responsible use in educational and professional activities.
A practical component of the event involved students assessing their own AI-related competencies and skills, prompting them to reflect on the need for further development of digital and AI capabilities.
This student meeting is a vital part of the EduCATIA capacity-building program; it facilitates the dissemination of project results among KazNMU students, fosters a culture of responsible AI usage, and enhances the readiness of future medical professionals to work in an environment of digital transformation.
