International Congress “Current Issues in Neurology: Education and Clinical Practice”
Dear Colleagues,
The Public Association “Association of Neurologists” and the Department of Nervous Diseases of the Non-Commercial Joint-Stock Company “S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University,” in collaboration with the World Stroke Organization, have the honor to invite you to participate in the International Congress “Current Problems of Neurology: Focus on Education and Clinical Practice,” which will be held on May 29–30, 2026, in Almaty at: 506/99 Seifullin Avenue.
The Congress is included in the Media Plan for information support of healthcare initiatives implementation (Appendix 1 to the Order of the Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 30, 2026).
The Congress will become an unprecedented event for the medical community of Kazakhstan and Central Asia.
For the first time in Kazakhstan and the Central Asian region, current leaders of the World Stroke Organization (WSO) and leading international experts in neurology and stroke medicine, who shape contemporary global approaches to the diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation of neurological diseases, will gather on one platform.
The Congress will feature leading international WSO experts, including: Jeyaraj Durai Pandian — President of WSO, Professor of Neurology, Director of Christian Medical College (Punjab, India); Craig Anderson — Director of Global Brain Health at The George Institute (Australia), Professor of Neurology and Epidemiology at the University of New South Wales; Valeria Caso — Treasurer of WSO, Department of Neurology and Stroke, Saronno Hospital – ASST Valle Olona (Italy); Gustavo Saposnik — Vice-President of WSO, Director of the Stroke Outcomes and Decision-Making Research Unit at the University of Toronto (Canada).
Participation in the Congress will provide a unique opportunity for professional interaction with global leaders in neurology, discussion of international clinical guidelines, modern educational approaches, and future perspectives for the development of neurological services.
