Reaxys — An Innovative Platform for Scientific Research and Drug Development: A Master Class at Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University
At Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, on May 19, 2026, within the framework of the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Digital Technologies in Pharmacy: Integration of Education, Science and Industry,” dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the School of Pharmacy, a master class entitled “Addressing Key Challenges in Drug Development Using Reaxys” was held by Pola Girgis Labib Abdelsaied, Senior Regional Customer Success Manager (Life Science) (Egypt).
The event brought together faculty members, young researchers, doctoral candidates, master’s students, undergraduate students, and pharmaceutical industry specialists interested in the application of modern digital technologies in scientific research and drug development.
During the master class, participants became acquainted with the advanced capabilities of the Reaxys platform used in scientific research and pharmaceutical development. Tools for identifying promising compounds, analyzing biological activity, studying scientific publications and patent data, as well as approaches to optimizing the synthesis of pharmaceutical substances were presented. Practical examples demonstrated digital solutions that enable researchers to efficiently analyze scientific information and make informed decisions throughout the drug development process.
Special attention was given to the advantages of the Reaxys platform, including:
- access to international databases of scientific publications and patents;
- search and analysis of chemical compounds and their properties;
- investigation of structure–activity relationships;
- selection of optimal synthesis conditions;
- support for interdisciplinary research in chemistry, pharmacy, and biotechnology;
- enhancement of research efficiency and productivity.
The master class attracted significant interest among conference participants and served as an effective platform for exchanging modern digital solutions and professional experience in pharmaceutical research. The use of Reaxys capabilities contributes to improving the quality of scientific developments, advancing research approaches, and fostering innovation in drug discovery and development.
