Student of the school of pharmacy of Kazakh national medical university named after S. D. Asfendiyarov became a scholarship holder named after academician Yesenov Shahmardan

Stanislav Andreevich Ledenev, a 3rd year student of the School of Pharmacy of the Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov, became the owner of the scholarship named after Academician Shahmardan Yesenov 2025. Having passed several stages of competitive selection among students of universities of Kazakhstan, Stanislav was among 20 winners, who will be granted a monthly scholarship of the scientific and educational fund named after Academician Shahmardan Yesenov.

The purpose of the fund is to support students and young Kazakhstani scientists specializing in exact and natural sciences to continue their basic education, improve professionalism and competitiveness. The Foundation’s mission: to develop the intellectual potential of Kazakhstan.

The Foundation was established in 2013 in memory of Shakhmardan Yesenov, an outstanding Kazakh scientist and statesman, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, winner of the Lenin Prize, winner of the State Prize of the Kazakh SSR, Minister of Geology of Kazakhstan, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR. He made a great contribution to the development of geological science and geological service, in the formation of the Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan.

Academician Esenov Sh.E. was the discoverer and developer of the largest mineral deposits in the world — in Zhezkazgan region and in Mangistau region (including Uzen, Zhetybai and others).

The scholarship program of the Academician Shakhmardan Yesenov Foundation is aimed at supporting talented students of Kazakhstan studying in natural sciences, technical, medical and IT-specialties. This year there were many participants competing for the right to become a scholarship holder of the fund. Stanislav’s victory testifies to his high academic achievements and active scientific activity.

Lilia Ibragimova Liliya Nikolaevna, Head of the Center of Pharmacy and Pharmacology of the Scientific and Technological Park of KazNMU named after S.D.Asfendiyarov, Associate Professor, Candidate of Pharmaceutical Sciences, made a great contribution to the preparation for the competition and victory in it.

The program is designed to promote the development of technical and natural science disciplines in Kazakhstan by financially supporting the best undergraduate students and developing their competencies demanded by modern society. Started in 2013 as a scholarship program exclusively for students of Satbayev University, today the scholarship program of Shakhmardan Yesenov Foundation covers students of 33 higher educational institutions of the country. Over the 10 years of the scholarship program of the Foundation, 157 students and young scientists of 64 specialties have become winners.
