Medical traditions: Medical and psychological mission in the farthest corner of Kazakhstan
From October 19 to October 21, 2023, doctors and teachers of the National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov, together with colleagues from friendly educational institutions, are traveling for the third time to the village of Kolzhat, Uyghur district, Almaty region.
With this honorable and important mission, a team of doctors, led by Professor of the Department of Endocrinology, Zhangentkhan Abylayuly, Professor of the Department of Psychology of the University of Turan, Asimov Marat Abubakrievich and specialists: endocrinologist, head of the Department of Endocrinology, Bolshakova S.V., psychotherapist, And. O. Professor of the Department of Communication Skills, Bagiyarova F.A., Neuropathologist, Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Medicine, and Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine, Izbasarova A. Sh., Resident Doctor of the Department of Endocrinology of KazNMU — Savirdinova G. B., Resident Doctor of the Department of Internal Medicine diseases of KazNMU, Sabitova A. B., resident doctor of the department of internal diseases of KazNMU, Daniyal M. G. , psychiatrist, pediatrician, assistant at the Department of Psychiatry of KazNU Omarkhan A. SH., dermatologist, director of MC «DAUA» Dzhaksybekava A. Zh. A team of doctors provided medical care to more than 180 patients with endocrine, neurological, cardiological, dermatological diseases, and also received psychological support from a psychotherapist. Along with the practical contribution, scientific work was carried out to study the endocrine function of the pancreas in people of Uyghur ethnicity, including a glucose tolerance test.
Recommendations are given for providing rural medical outpatient clinics with the necessary diagnostic equipment, including ABPM, ultrasound and basic reagents for biochemical analysis.
Village residents and the acting chief physician of the Central District Hospital of the Uyghur region expressed deep gratitude to the Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov and his rector, Marat Edygeevich Shoranov, for providing consultative, medical and psychological assistance to residents of the remote village of Kolzhat, Almaty region, Uyghur district. This mission is the professional care of doctors, where, in the unity of practice and science, doctors worked for the benefit of the health of our citizens.
