Visit of Professor Mazhid Fazihi Harandi: Current Issues in Echinococcosis

On November 11–12, 2026, JSC «National Scientific Center of Surgery named after A.N. Syzganov» will host a visit by Professor Majid Fasihi Harandi (Iran) — a renowned specialist in medical parasitology (PhD) and Head of the Echinococcosis Research Center at Kerman University of Medical Sciences.
His research focuses on the epidemiology, diagnosis, prevention, and control of echinococcosis. Professor M.F. Harandi has authored 170 scientific publications, serves as an expert in the WHO informal working group on echinococcosis, and is an executive board member of the World Association of Echinococcosis.
The main purpose of the visit is to discuss current issues in the epidemiology, diagnosis, and treatment of echinococcosis, as well as to exchange practical and scientific expertise with Kazakhstani specialists.
As part of this visit, by invitation of JSC «NSCS named after A.N. Syzganov», Professor Majid Fasihi Harandi will deliver an open lecture on: «Modern Approaches to the Diagnosis and Treatment of Echinococcosis: Integration of Science and Practice».
