From November 27 to December 9, 2023, as part of the visiting program, the Department of Pharmacology was visited Dr. Shabanov Petr Dmitrievich, Professor, Head of the Department of Neuropharmacology of the S.V. Anichkov FSBSI Institute of Experimental Medicine. S.V. Professor of the Department of Pharmacology FSBSI «Russian Military Medical Academy named after S.M. Kirov». Professor of the Department of Advanced Medical Technologies FSBSI «St. Petersburg State University» of the Government of the Russian Federation.
P.D. Shabanov is the author of many publications, including more than 60 monographs and manuals, 34 methodological and training manuals, 52 patents of the Russian Federation for inventions, more than 850 articles. He is a member of editorial boards of more than 10 scientific journals.
During the visiting period for 3rd year students extended lectures were given on the topic: «Agents affecting secretion, motility of the digestive tract. Means affecting the hepatobiliary system». For faculty members of the department was given a course of lectures on the main research areas of the Institute of Experimental Medicine. The audience showed high interest in the material of the lectures.
For students and teaching staff of basic departments in the Hall of Glory named after Academician Toregeldy Sharmanov an open lecture on «Peptide drugs in the treatment of non-chemical forms of addiction» was held. Where the latest data on the role of peptides, experimental studies of their activity and prospects for further use in clinical practice were presented.
During the professor’s tenure, the textbook «Pharmacology of agents acting on the gastrointestinal tract» was developed and a joint textbook on basic pharmacology was planned.
In the course of practical tasks, the teachers were given the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills in conducting experimental work, to share their experience in the field of educational activities.
Consultations were held with doctoral students and young employees planning to enter the doctoral program on the choice of dissertation research areas. In the future, it is planned to supervise doctoral dissertations and cooperate in the publication of foreign articles.
