International Subject Olympiad on pharmaceutical and toxicological chemistry and pharmacognosy for students of the educational program «Pharmacy»
Dear students!
The Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry and the Department of Pharmacognosy with a Botany Course at the Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University invites you to participate in the International Subject Olympiad (hereinafter referred to as the Olympiad), dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, in the academic disciplines of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Toxicological Chemistry and Pharmacognosy.
The purpose of the Olympiad is to popularize knowledge about pharmaceutical chemistry, toxicological chemistry and pharmacognosy among students, increase their ability and interest in learning, identify among them the most talented and competitively capable pharmacists for their future profession, develop their cognitive abilities and broaden their horizons in relevant subjects.
Main tasks:
— improving the quality of education, scientific potential of students and establishing friendly relations between universities;
— stimulating and motivating students to acquire knowledge, skills and abilities within the framework of the Pharmacy educational program;
— assistance to the development of social partnership between pharmaceutical industry enterprises, forensic examination organizations and universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan and neighboring countries.
Olympiad will held for students of 3, 4, 5 courses of the specialty «Pharmacy», in accordance with the educational program «Pharmacy».
PhD, candidates or doctors of sciences in the Pharmacy educational program, no more than one candidate from each participating university, are elected to the jury.
The winners in the team competition for the first, second, and third places are awarded with Diplomas. The participants of the Olympiad will receive a Certificate of participation in the International Olympiad.
The Olympiad will be held on May 29-30, 2025 from 9:00 to 18:00.
The organizers of the Olympiad are the Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry and the Department of Pharmacognosy with a botany course, Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University.
Form of the event: full-time.
Languages of the event: Kazakh, Russian.
Each higher educational institution represents at least one team of 5 students from Medical universities and Pharmaceutical universities specializing in Pharmacy to participate in all competitive tasks of the Olympiad.
The Olympiad is held in 3 rounds.
The first stage is the presentation of the teams (a video clip with a duration of no more than 5 minutes).
Stage II – solving situational tasks (3 tasks for each subject);
Stage III – testing in the disciplines of «Pharmaceutical Chemistry», «Toxicological chemistry» and «Pharmacognosy» (80 tests each).
To register teams, you must submit an online application by 05/20/2025 using the attached form Appendix 1 (Akjonas Khamitova [email protected]).
To prepare for the Olympiad, participants should study the relevant sections of the disciplines «Pharmaceutical Chemistry», «Toxicological Chemistry» and «Pharmacognosy», which are presented in the attached form Appendix 2.
