The participation of the Faculty of the School of Pharmacy in the International Exhibition «Ayurveda & Organic Exhibition 2025»
On September 11-12, 2025, the exhibition «Ayurveda & Organic Expo 2025» was held in Almaty with the participation of the Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University at Atakent Shopping Center (https://aprfd.kz/index.php/novosti/item/2891-v-almaty-nachala-svoyu-rabotu-mezhdunarodnaya-vystavka-ayurveda-organic-exhibition-2025).
As part of the organization of the Exhibition, the Conference Program was presented, which was attended by Asfendiyarov KazNMU and several organizations (the Association for the Support and Development of Pharmaceutical Activities of the Republic of Kazakhstan; a branch of the Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the form of the APRF of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Almaty region; the Association of Scientists, Manufacturers and Suppliers of Dietary Supplements and SPP; the Almaty branch of JSC National Center expertise and certification», etc.).
Boshkayeva A.K., Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Associate Professor, made a presentation on the topic «Search for new compounds and assessment of pharmacological activity «in silico» (conducting experiments or research using computer modeling).
Currently, the task of searching for new compounds of natural and synthetic origin, in the direction of which research is being conducted on the basis of the School of Pharmacy, does not lose its relevance to this day. This new direction is developing rapidly in the world. The range of medicinal substances is constantly expanding due to the multifaceted scientific research, the development of new active substances, the creation of combined drugs and the emergence of new dosage forms. Based on already known substances or their modifications, new drugs are being created aimed at treating specific diseases. Medicines containing several active substances that are used simultaneously to increase effectiveness or reduce side effects are being developed and included in the nomenclature. The development of technologies makes it possible to create new, more convenient and effective dosage forms, such as transdermal patches, new types of aerosols, injectable forms, etc.
Using computer methods, a database has been created containing well-known information about the structural formulas and biological activity of 1906 phytocomponents of 50 medicinal plants used in traditional Indian medicine, Ayurveda (ayurveda.pharmaexpert.ru ).
Ayurveda has become an integral part of modern medicine.
During the event, the teachers presented scientific developments, the research of which is conducted by professors of the School of Pharmacy in the following scientific areas:
1) Biopharmaceutical classification system and the concept of a biowaver (supervisor: Ustenova G.O., Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Doctor of Pharmacy, Professor).
2) Pharmacognostic research and study of the profile of biological activity of medicinal plants of Kazakhstan (scientific supervisors: Kozhanova K.K., Head of the Department of Engineering Disciplines and Proper Work, Candidate of Chemical Sciences; Kadyrbayeva G.M., Associate Professor).
