International Scientific and Practical Conference “Mysteries of the Brain. Multimodal Forum”
On April 16, 2026 in Almaty, the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Mysteries of the Brain. Multimodal Forum” was held, bringing together specialists in neurology, radiology, neuroscience, and related disciplines.
The event served as an important platform for the exchange of up-to-date scientific knowledge, clinical experience, and discussion of current issues in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of nervous system diseases. The conference was attended by leading experts, researchers, and practicing physicians from various cities and regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as participants from Georgia, the USA, and the United Kingdom.
Within the scientific program, key areas of modern neurology were addressed, including stroke and strategies for its prevention, contemporary approaches to the management of patients with dizziness, metabolic disorders in neurological practice, the role of B vitamins in the treatment of nervous system diseases, and issues related to neuropathic pain. Special attention was given to recent advances in Alzheimer’s disease research and the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies in neurology.
The Department of Nervous Diseases of Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University was represented by Professor Nurguzhayev Yerkin Smagulovich, Professor of the Department of Nervous Diseases and President of the Association of Neurologists. As part of the forum, he delivered a presentation entitled “Chronic Cerebral Ischemia: Prognosis,” which highlighted current perspectives on the pathogenesis, clinical course, and prognostic assessment of this condition.
Such events contribute to strengthening international collaboration, advancing scientific potential, and promoting the implementation of innovative technologies into everyday clinical practice.
