Round Table on “Prevention of Drug, Alcohol and Harmful Substance Addiction” Held
A round table discussion on the topic “Prevention of Drug, Alcohol and Harmful Substance Addiction” was held at the Scientific Library of KazNMU. The purpose of the event was to prevent harmful habits among students, promote a healthy lifestyle, and increase awareness of the medical and social consequences of addiction. The event was organized in accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3 – “Good Health and Well-being”).
This goal is aimed at strengthening public health, preventing harmful habits, and improving the quality of life.
During the event, several informative presentations were delivered:
Beknur Ayaganov gave a presentation on “Substance Abuse,” highlighting the dangers of glue sniffing and its spread among teenagers.
Students of group OZ23-001 — Orazaly Aliman, Alimgazina Amina, and Khasengali Samal — delivered a report on “Drug Addiction as a Threat to Modern Society.”
PhD doctoral student Dikhan M.D. presented a scientific report on “Alcoholism and Its Impact on Health.”
During the interactive session, student Baidalin Bauyrzhan actively participated, answered questions accurately, and demonstrated effective ways to prevent harmful habits and combat addiction.

All posters were informative, creative, and educationally meaningful. As a result of fair evaluation, all participants were awarded equal places and received commemorative gifts.
The event was organized at a high level and attracted significant student interest. Participants gained important knowledge about the prevention of harmful habits and understood the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
