KazNMU and Mindray Expand Cooperation in Medical Education and Technology
On September 16, 2026, Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University hosted a meeting between the University leadership and a delegation of the international medical technology company Mindray, headed by its President, Mr. Wu Hao.
As part of the visit, the Mindray delegation participated in a campus tour of KazNMU, during which the guests were introduced to the University’s infrastructure, as well as its educational, research, and clinical capabilities.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in medical education, clinical practice, scientific research, and the implementation of advanced medical technologies, digital solutions, and artificial intelligence.
Marat Shoranov, Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNMU, highlighted the established cooperation between the University and Mindray and proposed exploring the establishment of a Competence Center at KazNMU. The Center is expected to serve as a practical training platform for physicians, faculty members, residents, students, and young professionals, including training in the use of modern medical equipment and technologies.
Particular attention was given to the modernization of the Aksay Clinic. The parties agreed to continue exploring opportunities to integrate Mindray’s advanced medical equipment, digital solutions, and artificial intelligence technologies into the reconstruction and further development of the clinic.
Mr. Wu Hao, President of Mindray, confirmed the company’s interest in developing a long-term partnership with KazNMU and strengthening the University’s potential as an educational and clinical platform in Central Asia.
The parties identified several promising areas for further cooperation, including improving access to healthcare, advancing early disease detection and high-quality diagnostics, strengthening the training of healthcare professionals, and introducing modern medical technologies into educational and clinical practice.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue joint work on identifying specific areas and mechanisms for further cooperation.
